KIEV, May 22 – The organization of high-speed railway services by Hyundai trains will lead to a revision in the price formation principles of the Ukrainian transport sector, according to MP Ihor Shkyria, head of the Association of Automobile Carriers of Ukraine (VAAP).
"With the arrival of the Hyundai trains, transport could become marketable, and price formation for transport will be come marketable, and not politically conventional-social," he said in comments to Interfax-Ukraine.
Shkyria said that the organization of railway movement would trigger the development of passenger transportation by road.
"Buses and automobiles, which have been private in Ukraine for 20 years since the collapse of the Soviet Union, were the first to suffer from the dumping prices of railways, so let's hope that the market will level everything. The passengers will assess what type of transport they will use," he said.
