KIEV, May 17 - Ukraine's independent unions intend on May 21 to begin a nationwide protest against the adoption of the Labor Code and a bill on rallies and demonstrations, Federation of Trade Unions of Workers of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises of Chairman Viacheslav Roy said.

"Some independent unions and public organizations have scheduled a nationwide protest against the adoption of the Labor Code and a bill on rallies and demonstrations to begin on Kiev's Maidan [Independence Square] at 0930 on May 21," he told a press conference in Kiev on Wednesday.
