KIEV, May 10 – The recommended addition of 5% bioethanol to gasoline in 2013 and its obligatory addition in 2014 will increase the capacity utilization of Ukraine’s alcohol facilities to 70% or more, said Kostiantyn Borodin the deputy director of the department on oil and gas industry and alternative energy at the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry.
He announced this forecast at a briefing in Kiev while presenting a draft of amendments to some legislative laws of Ukraine prepared by the ministry on the production of the gasoline consisting of biological components. The bill proposed having no less than 5% bioethanol content in gasoline in 2013.
