KIEV, May 3 – Ukraine is preparing to supply to Iraq in May a second batch of BTR-4 armored personnel carriers, which were assembled at the facilities of the domestic defense industry under a large-scale contract worth more than $550 million for the supply of Ukrainian military equipment to the Iraqi customer, a source familiar with the implementation of the contract told Interfax-Ukraine.
"Earlier this week, the Iraqi side started accepting the second batch of 62 armored vehicles. The act of receipt is to be signed within a week. The shipment of equipment is scheduled for May," the source said.
A third batch of 94 BTR-4 armored personnel carriers is to be supplied to the customer by the end of the year, the source said.
