KIEV, April 25 – The holding of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship in Ukraine is a test for the country regarding its compliance with European standards of hospitality, organization, development of infrastructure and the provision of a safe and comfortable environment for participants and fans, National Security and Defense Council Secretary Andriy Kliuyev said.
He said that preparations for the safe holding of Euro 2012 were reaching their final stage.
"Ukraine is currently one of the most peaceful countries in the world. At the same time, we understand that in today's globalized world no country can completely isolate itself from other countries, and accordingly from certain threats. We are aware of the seriousness of even hardly probable external challenges that require the permanent strengthening of security measures from us," Kliuyev said, while commenting on the results of holding comprehensive interagency exercises, which took place on the basis of the 40th tactical aviation brigade of the Ukrainian Air Force in Vasylkiv (Kiev region).
