KIEV, Sept. 23 - Ukraine is bidding to buy major crude oil and natural gas extracting assets in Kazakhstan to secure sufficient supplies of energy in the long-term, President Viktor Yushchenko said Friday.

The bidding is part of a deal with Kazakhstan according to which Ukraine has allowed Kazakh state oil and gas company to invest and own oil transportation assets on the Ukrainian territory.
