KIEV, March 30 – Two Kiev-based banks, Bank Khreschatyk and Eurogasbank, have announced their withdrawal from the Association of Ukrainian Banks one day after the AUB president issued a statement calling for a change in the leadership of the central bank.
"This decision was made due to the constant lax application of the association's statutory provisions and rules, which, despite all the difficulties caused by the crisis, have failed to consolidate banking sector professionals [so that they could] develop effective measures to overcome the crisis," reads a press release of Bank Khreschatyk.
"The work of the association is to seek compromise and a solution of problems arising between the market players and state authorities, but not in the conscious creation of conflicts," said Eurogasbank.
