KIEV, March 27 – The construction of a containment shelter will start at Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant on April 26, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.

The international community helped to raise funds for the construction of the facility, the president said while speaking to Ukrainian reporters in Seoul on Tuesday.

"Ukraine has become an active participant in international cooperation for the protection of nuclear security. Our partners from the whole world appreciate that," Yanukovych said.
