KIEV, March 29 - Ukraine's national energy company Naftogaz Ukrayiny seeks to borrow $2 billion from Russian bank Gazprombank to be able to pay for Russian natural gas supplies this year.

The plan to borrow the money for seven years was disclosed on Thursday when Naftogaz had made mandatory filing with the authorities.

Naftogaz said the money will be used to make massive purchases of Russian gas in the summer to replenish stocks of gas that will be used during the high demand season in the winter.
