KIEV, March 29 – President Viktor Yanukovych has denied that his initiatives to improve social standards have anything to do with the forthcoming parliamentary elections.

"They keep saying that these [social initiatives] are related to the forthcoming elections. Tell me when we don't have elections? The presidential [election] is over, local [elections] start, then parliamentary elections begin, following which more local and presidential elections will be held. That's how we live," Yanukovych said at the sixth congress of the Organization of Veterans of Ukraine in Kiev on Thursday.
