KIEV, March 16 - The government is ready to support an amendment from opposition groups allowing reorganization of national energy company Naftogaz Ukrayiny, but banning its privatization, a senior energy ministry official said Friday.

Volodymyr Makukha, deputy energy and coal industry minister, said the government would back the amendment submitted by Yuriy Karmazyn, a lawmaker from the opposition Our Ukraine-People’s Self-defense group.
