KIEV, March 12 – President Viktor Yanukovych said he believes that the stable growth of the Ukrainian economy in the past two years has become the foundation for the implementation of a number of initiatives on the improvement of the social welfare and living standards of citizens.

"Economic growth that was reported for two consecutive years - 4.2% in 2010 and 5.3% last year – has created the foundation on which my social program is based. We see that the dynamics is being preserved this year," he said in an interview with the TSN-Week news program on 1+1 TV Channel.
