KIEV, March 7 - Ukraine transferred around $1.3 billion to Russian gas giant Gazprom for gas imported in February 2012, national company Naftogaz Ukrayiny said in a statement.

"Naftogaz Ukrayiny meets its obligations to OJSC Gazprom, on a monthly basis, on time and in full order, in its payment for imported natural gas," the statement said.

According to Naftogaz, the gas price for Ukraine in the first quarter of 2012 comes to around $416 per 1,000 cubic meters.
