MOSCOW, March 2 – The Association of Sugar Producers of the Customs Union has addressed the Eurasian Economic Commission asking it to take measures to prevent sugar supplies from Ukraine being made at dumping prices.
The association head and Board Chairman of the Union of Sugar Producers of Russia, Andrei Bodin, said that as the CIS has not ratified a number of documents at the national level, Belarus and Kazakhstan have different means of access to their sugar market compared to Russia, and they cannot fulfill obligations to impose a duty of $340 per ton on supplies of white sugar. The regimes create preconditions for Ukrainian sugar to be supplied at dumping prices, he said.
