KIEV, March 1 – Zaporizhia's local authorities are intending to make the owners of Zaporizhia aluminum combine (ZAlK), part of Russia's RUSAL, fulfill their investment obligations, otherwise they promise to take more drastic measures against its shareholders.

"I'm starting the active process of resuming the work of Zaporizhia aluminum plant. What do we have to do to achieve this? First of all, all services will analyze the investment commitments that ZAlK undertook. Secondly, if the audit shows that investment commitments were not fulfilled, I will make every effort to make the owners fulfill them. If this fails, I will use more drastic measures," Chairman of Zaporizhia Regional State Administration Oleksandr Peklushenko said after a meeting with the owners of the plant on Wednesday.
