BRUSSELS, March 1 – NATO experts have drawn up and given to Ukraine recommendations on security measures for the Euro 2012 European Football Championship.
The Ukrainian side is working to implement them, and in addition, Kiev has requested assistance, said Evert Somer, the chief of NATO's security experts aiding Ukraine to prepare for Euro 2012.
"We worked with the Emergencies Ministry, the Health Ministry and the Interior Ministry. We drafted a report on the results of this work with recommendations for the Ukrainian authorities, which was put in operation instead of gathering dust on the shelf. Ukraine developed an algorithm for the implementation of these recommendations: how they will carry them out and exactly what kind of assistance and in which spheres they need help from NATO member states," the chief of the NATO's expert group said.
