KIEV, Feb. 6 - The price of gasoline for Ukraine could grow to $700 per 1,000 cubic meters by the end of the year if the military scenario in the Middle East and North Africa continues, Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council Secretary Raisa Bohatyriova said in an interview with the magazine Viche, posted on the NSDC's Web site on February 3.
"It is easy to understand that in the case of a military scenario [in the Strait of Hormuz area] within the next few months, the world will expect a jump in oil prices, which will lead to growth in the price of the petroleum product basket. Due to the contractual formula, this will cause growth in the gas price in the fourth quarter of this year," Bohatyriova said.
