KIEV, Feb. 6 - The question of creating a trilateral gas transport consortium now remains very important, President Viktor Yanukovych said.

"We are currently actualizing this proposal, and we think that it remains very important and timely," he said as part of the 48th Munich Security Conference on February 3.

Yanukovych also added that Ukraine proposed the creation of such a consortium in 2003.

He said that time had shown how unstable gas supplies to European countries in certain years had led to distrust between partners.
