KIEV, Feb. 3 – The grain and bean harvest in Ukraine this year could be 42.6 million tons in bunker weight, which is almost 25% down on 2011, according to experts from the ProAgro information company.
Their report says that the forecast takes into account data on sowed winter crops for the 2012 harvest, weather and possible fields for resowing in spring.
The company said that this year Ukraine could harvest 14.6 million tons of wheat, which is 35% down on 2011, eight million tons of barley (12% down), 420,000 tons of rye (a 28% decline), and 17.7 million tons of corn (a 22.4% fall).
