KIEV, Feb. 2 - Ukraine has been using more natural gas due to extremely cold weather, but most of the extra gas comes from its underground gas storage facilities, not from Russia, Naftogaz Ukrayiny said Thursday.

The national energy company reacted to allegations from Russian gas giant Gazprom that Ukraine had been recently significantly exceeding an earlier level of gas imports from Russia, causing supply shortages in the system.
