KIEV, Feb. 1 - Four Ukrainian coal miners were rescued and successfully lifted to the surface late Tuesday following a gallery collapse that had trapped them deep underground, the Emergency Situations Ministry reported Wednesday.

After the accident, which occurred at the Rumyantseva coal mine in Horlivka, the Donetsk region, four coal miners had been trapped since Tuesday morning at the depth of 1,090 meters below the surface.
