KIEV, Feb. 1 – Around 20% of the filling stations in Ukraine are selling fuel of doubtful quality, said Hennadiy Riabtsev, deputy director of Kiev’s Psyche research center.
"Around 2,000 filling stations sell gasoline with a slight positive margin, or with a zero margin, or even at a loss. This means that shadow schemes are being applied, or taxes not being paid, or low-quality fuel being sold… This is not a direct analysis method, but it allows us to say that around 20% of filling stations are not in line with requirements as to the quality of gasoline sold," he said at a press conference in Kiev on Tuesday.
