KIEV, Jan. 24 - Ukraine's state defense order in 2012 will amount to UAH 1.47 billion, which is four times up on 2011, Ivan Marko, the head of the finance department at the Defense Ministry, told reporters.
"I believe that it [the state defense order] will be funded, first of all, in part by creating new types of weapons," he said.
He said that the realization of the following programs would be continued in 2012: the creation of a new Ukrainian Corvette class ship (UAH 433.6 million is foreseen for the program), the Sapsan multifunctional missile complex (UAH 105.5 million), the An-70 military transport aircraft (UAH 347 million), and the unified automated control system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (UAH 205.7 million).
