KIEV, Jan. 19 - Astarta agricultural holding, the largest sugar producer in Ukraine, is planning in September to complete the construction of a biogas complex at the Hlobyne sugar refinery in Poltava region, the company's director general, Viktor Ivanchyk, told reporters on Thursday.
He said that the company started building the complex in late 2011. The estimated cost of the project is around EUR 15-20 million.
When the biogas complex is operating at full capacity, it will be able to provide up to 60% of the natural gas required by the refinery, which will settle the problem of gas supplies for the sugar refinery and companies operating near the complex, Ivanchyk said.
