KIEV, Jan. 16 - Ukraine boosted its transit of natural gas to Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States by 5.7% to 104.198 billion cubic meters (bcm) in 2011, Ukrtransgaz said in a statement.
Ukraine pumped 5.9% more gas - 101.098 bcm - to Western Europe last year. At the same time, it pumped 2.4% less gas - 3.1 bcm - to the CIS.
Ukrtransgaz also provided 51.687 bcm of natural gas to domestic consumers, or 2.6% more than in 2010.
At the same time, Ukraine cut natural gas transit to Europe and the CIS by 14.6% in December alone to 9.21 bcm.
