BRUSSELS, Jan. 13 – Despite numerous statements by the Ukrainian authorities, the European Commission has not received any specific proposals on the formation of a gas transportation consortium by Ukraine, Russia and the EU.

"The idea of creating some form of a trilateral consortium to manage gas transit through Ukraine has been around for some years, but no specific proposals have been presented," the press secretary of EU Energy Commissioner Gunther Oettinger, Marlene Holzner, said in interview with Interfax-Ukraine in Brussels.
