KIEV, Jan. 11 - Ukraine's Naftogaz has transferred $1.004 billion to Russian gas major Gazprom for the natural gas it imported in December 2011, Naftogaz said in a statement on Wednesday.

"Every month, in a timely manner and in full volume, Naftogaz Ukrayiny fulfills its obligations before OJSC Gazprom on payments for imported natural gas," the statement said.

According to Naftogaz, the price Ukraine paid for gas in Q4 2011 stood at around $400 per 1,000 cubic meters.
