KIEV, Dec. 27 – Ukraine has sent the second out of six An-32 light transport aircraft to Iraq under a contract worth over $550 million for the supply of the Ukrainian military hardware to Iraq.
The An-32 took off from Hostomel Airport, Kiev region, on Tuesday morning. It is to arrive at Baghdad International Airport on Tuesday evening.
The first An-32 aircraft was sent to Iraq in November 2011. Another four planes are to be supplied to the customer next year, according to Ukraine's state arms exporter Ukrspecexport. The rest two are to be transferred to the customer in the second half of 2012.
