KIEV, Dec. 27 - TIS Eco (Kiev region) has assembled Ukraine’s first bio-gas cogeneration plant on the Prymorsky solid waste landfill in Mariupol (Donetsk region), said Ivan Paschenko, the project’s head.
"Assembly work has been finished. Now we're registering [the plant] and obtaining a license," he said.
He said that a plant with the capacity of 200 kilowatt of electricity and 215 kilowatt of heat generation made by Kiev-based EuroDiesel Company was assembled at the landfill. Gas reaches the plant from over 50 wells drilled at the landfill. According to TIS Eco, gas stocks are enough for the equipment to operate for 8-10 years.
