Mobile operators ask Lytvyn to reject 5% service surcharge bill
Journal Staff Report

KIEV, Dec. 16 – Mobile operators Kyivstar, MTS Ukraine and Astelit have sent a joint letter to Parliamentary Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn calling on Parliament not to consider a bill on introduction of an additional 5% duty for services of mobile operators for transfer to the Pension Fund.

The operators said that today all subscribers already pay 7.5% of the cost of mobile services for pension insurance. They also noted that when this duty was introduced it was considered as temporary as mobile services were expensive and unaffordable to everyone.
