KIEV, Dec. 7 - Transit of natural gas through Ukraine to CIS and European countries increased by 8.2% or 7.172 billion cubic meters (bcm) year-on-year, to 94.987 bcm in January-October 2011, Ukrtransgaz, a subsidiary of Naftogaz Ukrainy, reported.
Ukrtransgaz said that transit of gas to Western Europe increased by 8.4% in the first 11 months of 2011, to 92.245 bcm, while transit to CIS countries went down by 0.5%, to 2.742 bcm.
A reported, natural gas transit through Ukraine to destinations in Europe and the CIS went up in 2010 by 2.9% or 2.777 bcm, to 98.602 bcm in comparison with the previous year.
