KIEV, Dec. 6 – The cancellation of a number of benefits granted to people's deputies has been proposed in the draft national budget for 2012, Oleksandr Yefremov, head of the pro-government Regions Party parliamentary faction, said during a briefing in the lobby of the Verkhovna Rada.

Asked whether the proposals were connected with the recent protests of Chernobyl cleanup workers, the MP said: "The question is a bit incorrect: We did not propose to cancel a number of benefits granted to people's deputies because of the events with participation of Chernobyl cleanup workers' organizations."
