Zelensky says Russia may strike at gas transit network Journal Staff Report
President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that Russia can strike at the Ukrainian gas transmission system (GTS) and demand that Europe launch Nord Stream 2. "They will strike at the GTS of Ukraine. In order not to be accused, they will make a terrorist attack on their territory. They don't care what to blow up. They will accuse us to hit our GTS," he said in an interview with the German broadcaster ZDF, published on Thursday. "He [Putin] will tell Europe that there is no way [to supply gas], we need to launch Nord Stream 2, otherwise Europe will be left without gas because of Ukraine," Zelensky said.
