KIEV, Nov. 14 – The European Union sees no progress in Ukraine's compliance with fundamental European values, so a declaration that the country will ultimately become an EU member cannot be included into the association agreement yet, said Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira, head of the EU delegation to Ukraine.
"We are concerned that the former prime minister [Yulia Tymoshenko] and other members of the government became targets of the selective application of the law aimed at preventing them from taking part in political life. That is the problem," he said in an interview with the Voice of America.
