KIEV, Oct. 27 – The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine has asked President Viktor Yanukovych to veto bill No. 8521 on amendments to the Tax Code, as the resumption of value-added tax refunds to grain exporters foreseen in the document implies discrimination against several market players.
According to the ACC, these amendments are of no use to agricultural producers. They gain advantages from a market with a high level of competition, in which traders compete for their produce and offer more advantageous prices, rather than from a market in which one or two traders with a privileged status due to guaranteed VAT refunds are dominant, the ACC said in a statement.
