KIEV, Oct. 25 - The Dniprovska coal mine, which suspended operation on Saturday after a methane gas explosion, is expected to resume operation next week, DTEK, Ukraine’s biggest privately-held power and mining company, said Tuesday.

The explosion happened 175 meters deep inside the mine, when 406 coal miners had been working in a shift. Five miners were injured by the explosion, the company said.
