KIEV, Oct. 24 - Ukraine guarantees reliable and stable supplies of natural gas to Europe in case it concludes new gas contracts with Russia, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said.

"The first thing Russia needs is guarantees of reliable supplies of gas to Europe. We are trying to persuade our Russian partners that, by concluding an agreement, we are prepared to guarantee reliable and stable gas supplies, which is our main argument," Azarov said on Inter television channel on Friday evening.

Azarov reiterated the need to revise the existing gas contracts with Russia.
