Yanukovych Brussels trip nixing may mark ‘serious cooling,’ says MEP
Journal Staff Report

BRUSSELS, Oct. 18 – The postponement of a visit by President Viktor Yanukovych to Brussels might start "a serious cooling of bilateral relations," said Pawel Kowal, head of the delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.

"This will end with a serious cooling of the relations between Ukraine and the EU [that have formed] over the last 20 years. President Yanukovych might figure in history as a president who had a chance to move Ukraine closer to the EU, but decided to go a different way," Kowal said on Tuesday in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
