KIEV, Oct. 14 – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is mulling its participation in the equity capital Mykolaivcement (Lviv region) and its participation in the financing of the construction of a new plant that will produce cement using the dry method that is to be located ten kilometers from the existing plant.
"The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is considering whether it will take an equity share in the company with Lafarge (which owns OJSC Mykolaivcement) to contribute to the financing of the construction and operation of a new cement dry process line," reads a nontechnical report of Lafarge Cement posted on the bank's Web site.
The sides did not disclose other financial details.
According to the report, the new facility will have a total production capacity of 2.1 million tons of cement annually on the site of around 92 hectares. The proposed site for the new facility is adjacent to Lafarge's Dobryanskylimestone quarry. Mykolaivcement leased the site for 49 years.
