TALLINN, Oct. 12 - Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves has cancelled his scheduled Tuesday meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko who is visiting Tallinn.
Presidential advisor Toomas Sildam told Interfax that "the meeting was cancelled due to changes in the president's schedule."
"The president of Estonia is also concerned that the European Union does not have confidence in independent justice in Ukraine and adds that Ukraine leaving from the road of democracy and a law-governed state may become a great loss for the whole of Europe," he said.
Tymoshenko was found guilty of exceeding authority while negotiating the gas contracts with Russia on October 11. Ukraine's current government claims that these contracts place Ukraine at a disadvantage and wants them to be revised.
