KIEV, Oct. 10 – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is ready to take part in the privatization of Ukrainian electricity supply and generating companies, Riccardo Puliti, the managing director in charge of the energy and natural resources sectors at the EBRD, said in an interview with the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia Ukraine newspaper.
"If we are invited [we're ready to participate in the privatization of energy companies]. However, the main thing for us is [that there is] the most transparent and predictable privatization process," he said.
The Ukrainian representative office of the EBRD told Interfax-Ukraine that this concerns crediting and consulting support of buyers of energy companies. The similar services were provided by the bank during the privatization of Ukrtelecom, although no one used the services.
