KIEV, Sept. 23 – Parliament has passed a law on documents confirming the identity and citizenship of Ukraine and proposing to introduce plastic identity cards.

A total of 257 MPs out of the 366 registered in the session hall on Friday voted for the law.

The law regulates legal relations connected with the establishment of a single form and mechanism for producing, issuing, exchanging, extending the period of validity, transferring, withdrawing, declaring invalid and destroying documents that confirm the citizenship of Ukraine, identity or a special status.
