KIEV, Sept. 3 - President Viktor Yushchenko on Saturday accepted the resignation of Oleksandr Zinchenko, the Secretary of State, who had been leading the office of the president ever since Yushchenko assumed power in January.

Zinchenko, who successfully lead Yushchenko's presidential election campaign last year that had culminated in a popular uprising, known as the Orange Revolution, has been holding one of the key posts in Ukraine.
