KIEV, Sept. 5 – Ukraine is ready to render any assistance it can to Japan as that country tackles the consequences of the Fukushima disaster, President Viktor Yanukovych said.

"We are ready to consider any requests for assistance from Tokyo," the president said during a meeting with Takahiro Yokomichi, the speaker of the House of Representatives of the Japanese parliament, in Kiev on Monday.
