KIEV, Sept. 6 - Three Ukrainian coal miners were missing after a small privately-held mine suddenly flooded with water in the Luhansk region late Monday, the Emergency Situations Ministry reported on Tuesday.

Rescue workers are now trying to pump out the water from the flooded gallery, using three water pumps. They also pump compressed air into the flooded section of the mine, the ministry reported.
