KIEV, Sept. 6 - The volume of natural gas transiting Ukraine amounted to 71.979 billion cubic meters (bcm) in January-August, up 13.2%, or 8.415 bcm, from the same period of last year.

Gas transport operator Ukrtransgaz, a Naftogaz Ukrayiny subsidiary, reported that gas transiting to Western Europe was up 13.8% at 70.004 bcm in Jan-Aug, but that gas transiting to countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States was down 2.7% at 1.974 bcm.
