KIEV, Sept. 2 - Most Ukrainian mining companies reduced iron ore pellet production but raised concentrate production in January-August 2011.
Poltava Mining, the core asset of the London-listed Ferrexpo plc, reduced commercial pellet production 1.2% year-on-year to 6.456 million tons, but raised concentrate production 0.7% to 7.485 million tons.
Poltava Mining exports all of its pellets.
The Metinvest holding's Northern Mining and Beneficiation Plant, from Kryvy Rih, told Interfax-Ukraine that it reduced commercial pellet production 3.7% year-on-year in January-August to 6.659 million tons. Iron ore concentrate output fell 2% to 9.517 million tons.
