KIEV, Aug. 25 – A marathon TV talk show, entitled "Ukraine's Independence," which was broadcast on Channel 5 and dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Ukraine's independence, lasted 52 hours and become the world's longest marathon TV talk show, the channel's analytical department reported on Thursday.
According to the report, the record has been registered by the Guinness Book of World Records and representatives of the National Register of Records in Ukraine.
"The previous world record in this nomination belonged to Sergio Galliani from Peru, who established it in 2007. The marathon lasted 50 hours and nine minutes. In Ukraine, the record of holding a long TV marathon was set by Valentyn Scherbachov, who conducted four marathons as a presenter," reads a statement released by the channel.
