KIEV, Aug. 25 – TeleRadioSvit LLC (the Kiev-based TVi Channel) has appealed to Kiev's District Administrative Court with a request to cancel the results of a tender for national digital broadcasting held by the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting.
The national council at a meeting on August 18 considered only 28 applications, which did not include TVi's application.
"The text of TVi's appeal reads that under Article 22 of the law on television and radio broadcasting, a tender for broadcast licensing can be announced only when such a network is created under the established procedure. The DVB-T2 digital broadcast network was never created, and so a tender cannot be held," reads a press release.
