KIEV, Aug. 25 – Mykola Siry, a lawyer for former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, has said that it is obvious from the materials of the Russian gas supply contract case that are being read out by Judge Rodion Kireyev that there is no crime in Tymoshenko's actions.
"The case is collapsing step by step. There has to be [evidence] of damage [to the state] to prove that there was a crime of abuse of office," he told reporters on Thursday outside the building of Kiev's Pechersky District Court.
